Here we are - the family is together, all smiles and fun and games, and I am ready to pop. It can be a week, but it can happen tonight, and that would be just fine as far as I am concerned. This pregnancy report will be very short, since being 39 weeks pregnant doesn't really bear much analyzing or deciphering. Even our dogs know what's about to happen.
1. I am getting super curious to see what Baby Johnny will look like. Is he going to have hair? What color will his eyes be? How his voice will sound like? And most importantly, how soon will I find out that he's a wunderkind, so I can relax and go back to making more babies and attending to my writing and photography career.
2. What I am getting ever more eager is the moment when I will be able to wear anything other than sweatpants again.
3. Childbirth will hurt - I know because my Braxton-Hicks have been pretty regular and painful as of late, and because Johnny promises to be quite big, but I couldn't care less. The only thing I am interested in is going into labor after a long walk around the blooming neighborhood, or after a trip to San Francisco with my Mom, or after a good meal and an afternoon nap, or better - after I make love. On April 23rd I am doing anything but sitting on the couch, waiting for the contractions to start, and hoping that my water will break all by itself. I am delivering this baby simple and fast, and I am going to have fun with it.
You can take John away from technology, but you can't take technology out of John....

Good luck, Bobby. I'm excited for you. You're going to be fine. Yes indeed!
